This is the whole of our Yorkie puppy health guarantee, published in full so you can read it before you pay us anything. There is no separate document with different terms in it.
What the Yorkie puppy health guarantee covers
If a licensed veterinarian diagnoses your puppy with any of the following within fourteen days of arrival, the guarantee applies.
- A congenital condition — something the puppy was born with
- A hereditary condition — something carried in the line
- A contagious illness that was present at delivery
The remedy under the Yorkie puppy health guarantee is a refund. The puppy comes back to us, and we pay for the transport to return them.
Every puppy is examined by a licensed veterinarian, vaccinated and dewormed to schedule, and held to twelve weeks of age. The records travel with the puppy. That happens before the Yorkie puppy health guarantee is ever needed, and it is why it is rarely called on.
The 72-hour vet check
Take your puppy to your own licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of arrival. This is a condition of the Yorkie puppy health guarantee, not a suggestion.
Why we insist on it
It establishes your puppy’s condition on arrival, independently, in your own town. That protects you as much as it protects us — without it, nobody can tell later whether something arrived with the puppy or developed afterwards.
Who pays for it
You do. The examination is at your cost. Everything the guarantee itself pays out is set out below.
If you cannot get an appointment in time
Call us on (865) 392-0079 before the 72 hours are up, not after. Book the earliest appointment available and tell us the date. We are not looking for a technicality to refuse a claim.

Send the written diagnosis
A licensed veterinarian’s written diagnosis of a covered condition, dated inside the window. We ask for it in writing so there is a clear record on both sides — but we look at genuine cases on their merits, and we would rather talk to you than argue over paperwork.
Return the puppy
The puppy is returned to us before the refund is paid. We pay the return transport, arranged the same careful way the outbound journey was.
We pay within fourteen days
Once the puppy is back with us, your refund is paid within fourteen days of the request.

We refund the deposit as well as the purchase price. Plenty of breeders do not. If a puppy came to you with a condition it was born with, keeping your deposit would not be fair, and we would rather be recommended than be right.
If you would rather have another puppy
Some families would prefer a different puppy to their money back. Where a claim is upheld you can choose that instead, by agreement — the choice is yours, not ours. Set out in our refund policy.
What the Yorkie puppy health guarantee does not cover
Being straight about the limits is part of a Yorkie puppy health guarantee meaning anything at all.
- Illness or injury caused by accident, neglect or improper care after arrival
- Stress-related upset from the move itself — loose stools and a quiet first day are normal
- Conditions arising because veterinary advice was not followed
- Minor treatable issues during the settling-in period
- Anything first diagnosed after the fourteen days have passed, unless your state’s law gives you longer — see below
We breed to the AKC breed standard of four to seven pounds, and we will tell you a puppy’s real current weight. No honest breeder can guarantee an adult weight, and a Yorkie puppy health guarantee that promises one is telling you something about the breeder. Why “teacup” claims matter here.
Your state law sits on top of this
Our Yorkie puppy health guarantee is our floor, not your ceiling. Some states have puppy lemon laws giving buyers statutory rights, and where your state gives you more than fourteen days or a wider remedy, that law applies as well as this guarantee, not instead of it.
Many states have no such statute at all. In those states this written guarantee is your protection, which is exactly why we publish it rather than describing it. Check what your state gives you before you buy from anyone.
Before you pay a deposit
You will have the signed adoption agreement and this guarantee in front of you before any money moves. Read both. Ask about anything in them. A breeder who wants a deposit before you have seen the terms is telling you the terms will not survive being read.

When exactly does the fourteen days start?
The day the puppy is physically in your hands — the day of arrival, not the day you paid or the day you reserved.
How quickly is the refund paid?
Within fourteen days of your request, once the puppy has been returned to us.
Do I have to send the puppy back?
Yes. The puppy is returned before the refund is paid, and we pay the transport to bring them back.
Do I get my deposit back too?
Yes. On a covered claim the deposit is refunded along with the purchase price.
Is the delivery fee refunded?
No. The purchase price and the deposit are refunded; the original delivery cost is not.
What if I simply change my mind?
The Yorkie puppy health guarantee covers health, not second thoughts. Talk to us before you reserve rather than after — we would rather tell you a puppy is wrong for your household than sell you one.
Can I have another puppy instead of a refund?
Yes, where a claim is upheld and we both agree. Tell us which you would prefer when you call.
Do I need a written diagnosis?
Yes, from a licensed veterinarian and dated inside the fourteen days. We ask for it so both sides have a clear record. Genuine cases we handle sympathetically — call us and talk to us.
