Yorkshire Terrier puppies for sale in the USA & Canada

Whether you call them Yorkies, Yorkshire Terriers, or just the smallest dog you have ever fallen for — this is where ours come from, and exactly how we place them.

We are a small family breeder in Lena, Louisiana, raising Yorkshire Terrier puppies for families across the United States and Canada. We breed one breed only. Every Yorkie puppy on this site was born in our home, and we can tell you which littermate it followed around and what it does when the vacuum starts. If you are still deciding whether the breed suits your household, the AKC breed profile for the Yorkshire Terrier is a good neutral place to start.

If you are looking for a Yorkie for adoption rather than a puppy, we would genuinely point you at Yorkshire Terrier rescue first — there are wonderful adult Yorkies waiting, and they cost a fraction of a puppy. What we offer is different: a puppy raised from birth in a family home, with documented health care and a written guarantee behind it.

Real age, sex and price on every profile. When a puppy is reserved we mark it and leave it up — we never quietly re-list a placed puppy under a new name.

Breed Colour

Blue and tan — what a Yorkie actually looks like

The colours of this website are the colours of the breed. Here is why that matters when you are looking at puppy photos online.

Black
Steel Blue
Blue
Tan
Gold

A Yorkshire Terrier puppy is born black and tan. Over the first one to three years that black coat gradually clears to steel blue — a dark, cool blue-grey that runs from the back of the head down the tail — while the head, chest and legs deepen into a rich golden tan. Blue and tan is the classic adult colouring and the only one the AKC standard recognises for the breed.

This matters practically. The puppy in the photo will not be the colour of the dog you own in two years. A very dark eight-week-old Yorkie usually lightens considerably. Any seller marketing a Yorkie as a rare colour — and charging extra for it — is either describing a normal puppy coat that has not cleared yet, or breeding outside the standard. Some off-standard colour lines carry known coat and skin problems.

What we do

We describe every puppy by its current coat and tell you what we expect it to clear to, based on its parents. We do not charge a premium for colour, and we will not tell you a puppy is rare when it is simply young.

Who You Are Buying From

A family, not a facility

We have raised Yorkshire Terriers from our home in Lena, Louisiana for eight years. The puppies are whelped in the house and grow up in the living room — underfoot, handled daily, used to a television, a doorbell and children moving quickly past them.

That early exposure is the single biggest predictor of how well a toy-breed puppy settles into a new home, and it is the part you cannot buy back later.

Eight years with one breed means we know what our lines throw. When a family tells us they have young children and a busy house, we do not sell them the most popular puppy — we recommend the one we have watched stay calm when the room gets loud.

Please check us before you pay

Puppy fraud targets Yorkie buyers more than almost any breed, and we would rather you were suspicious than sorry. So we wrote a guide telling you exactly how to verify a breeder — then applied the checklist to ourselves.

  • Reverse image search our photos
  • Call the number and hear a real person
  • Ask to see the puppy’s mother in the photographs
  • Ask for fresh pictures taken today
  • Read the contract before you send a cent

Read the Scam Guide

The tell that never fails

A real breeder asks you questions. Do you have a yard? Other pets? Who is home during the day? A scammer never screens you, because they are not placing an animal — they are closing a sale.

If a seller shows no curiosity about the home their puppy is going to, walk away. That applies to us too.

Questions

Before you reserve

How much does a Yorkie puppy cost?

Our Yorkshire Terrier puppies are $680. That includes the veterinary examination, vaccinations to date, deworming, the written 14-day money-back guarantee and a go-home kit. Microchipping is arranged on request at cost, and delivery is quoted separately based on where you are.

Do you have Yorkie puppies for sale near me?

We are in Lena, Louisiana and place puppies across the United States and Canada. Louisiana families can collect in person for free. For everywhere else we quote in-cabin flight nanny or ground transport in writing before you place a deposit.

Do you deliver Yorkshire Terrier puppies to Canada?

Yes. Puppies entering Canada must be at least eight weeks old and travel with a rabies certificate or a veterinary age-exemption letter, per Canadian Food Inspection Agency rules. We prepare the paperwork and coordinate with the transporter. Door to door is typically three to five days.

What colour will my Yorkie puppy be as an adult?

Yorkshire Terriers are born black and tan and clear to blue and tan over one to three years. The steel blue runs from the back of the head to the tail, with golden tan on the head, chest and legs. We tell you what we expect each puppy to clear to, based on its parents.

Can I see the puppy before I pay?

Yes, and you should expect that from any breeder. Visit us in Lena if you can — collection is free. If you cannot travel, we send fresh photographs of the puppy and its littermates, and you can ask us anything by phone or email before any money changes hands.

What happens if my puppy arrives unwell?

Take your puppy to a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of arrival. You then have 14 days from the day the puppy reaches you to return them for a full refund if that exam finds a covered condition.

Are teacup Yorkies healthy?

Teacup is a marketing term, not a recognised size class. Very undersized Yorkies carry a higher risk of hypoglycaemia, dental crowding and fragile bones. We breed to the AKC standard of four to seven pounds.

Are Yorkies good with children?

With children aged around eight and up, yes. With toddlers we advise against it — a four-pound puppy dropped from chest height can break bones. It is the most common reason we decline a home.
